Appreciation of the governor’s was expressed at opening ceremony the cultural event and innovation of the second year at Beach Pavilion Losari, Makassar, Wednesday (06/09/2017) last night.

“I have never seen an event like this big My Mayor," said Governors.

Hearing the appreciation from governor, about 5.000 invited guests, gave a round of applause.
There was even a shout, “Oppoki Danny.”

Oppoki its Makassar local language with meaning “comes, be winner again.”

Governor said, the event depicts the richness of art and culture owned by Makassar and South Sulawesi.

Thus, it greatly affects the existence of Makassar in the eyes of other countries and cities, districts in Indonesia. Even cities in south Asia.

Syahrul mentioned, in addition to the richness of art and culture, it is undeniable that South Sulawesi along with Makassar and other cities / districts also have a variety of special foods and energy that must get a place for actualization so beneficial to all circles of society.

F-8 festivals it’s an annual tourism calendar from city authority.

F-8 meaning, this international festival will showcase a variety of Films, Food, Fashion, Florist, folklore, fusion jazz, fine art, and fiction from various circles artist, performers from local Makassar, national, even international performers.

The event is targeted to be a spectacular show to the world level .

Activities lasted for three days, 8-10 September, 2016, at Losari Beach Pavilion Platform.

It's the second event held in the government of Danny Pomanto as Mayor of Makassar.

This is the 2nd edition of the event that was held successfully for the first time on 8th-10th September 2016.
In this year, Makassar International Eight Festival & Forum (MIEFFF) 2017 has taken the theme: "Honoring the Homeland" that will combine all 'Makassar's creativities that are deeply rooted in the indigenous culture and traditions to create an international scale festival.

At his official speech, The Mayors of Makassar Mohammad Ramdhan "Danny" Pomanto, said the F8 event placed Makassar as the first city in the archipelago that held 8 cultural events at once glance. "This event confirms Makassar as the oldest cultural, artistic and culinary city in Indonesia," (*)
